“Care for me has to do with the experience of the tactile when looking at a woven artwork. The tactile brings remembrance of the touch of fabric on our hands, body, face, a universal experience for everybody. What ‘care’ means to me is that I can share that experience, make it more intense and meaningful. ‘Net Series #1’ creates interlacing and changing patterns from painted and pressed threads. The textile itself engenders an embodied emotional response” (Lia Cook)
